The Bridges by-election in Gateshead will be held on 12th September. There are 5 candidates in the running. The Lib Dem candidate is Jonathan Aibi (pictured above). The Guardian reports that a Foreign Office official has resigned over the UK's refusal to ban arms exports to Israel because of alleged breaches of international law.
