Yesterday, day 2 of the election campaign, was the first full council meeting in Gateshead since the council annual meeting, which happened to be last week! The highlight of the agenda was the Lib Dem motion calling for a secure tenancy for Gateshead Football Club at the Gateshead International Stadium. Residents have contacted us about the poor state of the road surface in Beechwood Terrace - see photo. We raised this with the council's Roads Maintenance Partnership and have had the following feedback : "An order has been raised for repairs to be carried out." We have also had an update on the promised resurfacing of the top two-thirds of West Park Road from the Senior Engineer in the Roads Maintenance Partnership as follows : "The work is currently scheduled for 21st October."
