Vince Cable and Ed Davey are appearing at the Edinburgh Festival next month. On Wednesday 9th August at 1pm, Vince will be taking part in Iain Dale's All Talk and you can buy tickets here. I went to a few of Iain's shows back in 2019 and they were very entertaining and aimed at getting past message discipline and exposing the human being. This will be pretty easy with Vince. The behind-the-scenes civil war within the Tory Party burst out into the open yesterday with the resignation of Lord Goldsmith from the government. The Independent reports that the situation became even more fractious as Zac Goldsmith hit out at the "misleading" No 10 briefing over his scathing resignation, insisting that Rishi Sunak was "wrong" to claim he had refused to apologise over his Partygate comments.
