Not being a Sun reader, you may have missed this entertaining extract from Harry Cole and James Heale's Out of the Blue - a biography of Liz Truss that turned into an account of her spectacular implosion:In early January, Johnson's chief whip Mark Spencer was hosting Scottish secretary Alister Jack on a day's shooting at an estate in Devon. Between drives, the tweed-clad pair were in a Land Rover with others, when Jack's phone rang. As he was behind the wheel, Jack answered on the built-in hands-free. On the other end was the inescapable boom of Kwasi Kwarteng, voicing fears ...

But there are many striving and burgeoning economies across the world that want a share of our cake. The pain of Tory incompetence is ...

Rushi and the Nasties.

Rivers of Blood: Enoch Powell Swamped: Margaret Thatcher Hostile environment: Theresa May Invasion: Suella Braverman. The Tories never let the facts get in the way of what they hope will be a vote-wining slogan. They truly are the "nasty party", despite vicar's daughter, Theresa May's waning earlier this century. Sadly she didn't put her "faith into action" as the mission statement over our Salvation Army shop pithily advertises.. Regarding M/s Braverman's inflammatory description, a Madeleine Sumption director of the Oxford migration Observatory points out , "This is not an invasion - it's not an army.. But if instead she is ...

Sir Ed Davey appeared on ITV's Peston last night. Peston suggested that since Rishi Sunak had arrived in No 10, the Lib Dems had been in reverse in the polls. Rejecting that and talking about the three by-election wins in Chesham and Amersham, Tiverton and Honiton and North Shropshire, Ed said: A lot of people said we won because people were turning away from Boris Johnson... I knocked on doors. I talked to people. What we found that they were rejecting the Conservative Party. They were doing it because of health matters, like ambulances, huge delays in getting access to ...
