John Rogers' walks following the lost rivers of London are my favourites of all he does. The YouTube blurb for this one says: Our walk starts at the confluence of the River Lea and the Pymmes Brook at Tottenham Hale and we find the confluence of the Moselle and the Lea by Markfield Park. We follow it through Markfield Park into Markfield Road and then along Broad Lane through Tottenham Hale to Scotland Green and then to Tottenham High Road. We pass the new Tottenham Football Stadium and follow the Moselle along White Hart Lane and into Tottenham Cemetery where we ...

Boris Johnson was enjoying a boost among Conservatives this week, until today, after his snap visit to Ukraine. No matter that he looked out of place in a suit and tie alongside President Zelensky and the escort in fatigues. The Conservatives like a good war and a leader that shows resolve in a time of crisis. But Johnson looked like he was going to a party not walking in a war zone. Rishi Sunak on the other hand, has had a lousy week. The row over his green card and his wife's non dom tax status has failed to die ...
This is a government in crisis neglecting a country in crisis. Parliament must be recalled for a vote of No Confidence in the Prime Minister. — Ed Davey MP [IMG: 🔶] [IMG: 🇬🇧] [IMG: 🇪🇺] (@EdwardJDavey) April 12, 2022
The Federal Policy Committee is in the process of setting up 3 policy working groups, to report to Autumn Conference in 2023. Any party member can apply to join them. The groups will update policy on Food and Farming, Opportunity, Skills and Training and International Security. In an email to party members, FPC Vice Chair Lucy Nethsingha said: Below you can see the aims of each working group: Food and Farming This group will consider how we can improve our approach to food and farming, including looking at the future of farming and fishing, food security and supply chains, food ...
Revolution of our Times is a truly powerful film screened in London in March 2022. The film shows real footage of more than one million people on the streets of Hong Kong protesting the introduction of the Extradition Bill about to be enacted against Hong Kong citizens whose only act was to upset the Chinese Communist State. The spontaneous protest demonstrated how unpopular the proposed extradition law to mainland China was. Witnessed by the arbitrary arrest of three booksellers in Hong Kong who dared to sell banned publications. The people now called for the repeal of the extradition law as ...
New YouGov/The Times research shows Britons would support a ban on conversion therapy at about the same rate for both sexual orientation and gender identity, with widespread support across parties and social groups.
Since the Council letter about the Mayoral consultation started to go out yesterday, I have been inundated with complaints about how poor it is, how badly presented and with many questions about who can register their opinion and how they ... Continue reading →
Lib Dems report Sunak to Standards Commissioner over failure to declare multi-million investments
The Liberal Democrats have reported Rishi Sunak to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards - after accusing him of failing to declare details of his multi-million pound investments prior to entering the Cabinet. Last week Sunak referred himself to Lord Geidt, the Independent Adviser on Ministers' Interests, regarding his Ministerial register of interests. However, Liberal Democrats are today reporting Sunak to Kathryn Stone, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards, regarding his declaration of interests as an MP from 2015-2019 before entering the Cabinet. When Sunak became Chief Secretary to the Treasury in July 2019, he reported that he had investments in a ...
Responding to today's ONS stats which show that UK wage growth has failed to keep pace with the rising cost of living, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson Christine Jardine MP said: "Today's figures confirm the Conservative cost of living nightmare facing millions of UK families. "People are rightly angry with the Chancellor for refusing to throw them a lifeline when their incomes are being squeezed. "Rishi Sunak should stop ignoring people's pain and slash VAT, putting an average of £600 into the pockets of every UK family."
A new face, to me: well-lived,a face of character and sense; enticing.Lightly made up, highlighting those eyesnot so as to disguise her age, drawing attention on the wordsexpanding in the air between us,circlingabove her pert and subtle breasts, her slender build – and legsI'd like to dive between,to give and receive pleasurein that always-human place ~

In May, local elections will take place across Scotland and Wales and in many areas of England. In a Savanta ComRes poll of 2,203 UK adults commissioned by the Lib Dems, one in five traditional Tory voters said the 1.25 per cent rise in National Insurance could put them off supporting the Conservatives. Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey said Rishi Sunak has shown he is more conman than Conservative and the hike in will lead to voters taking their fury to the ballot box in May. The survey found that nearly a quarter of adults - 23 per cent ...
The latest chart-topping group, brought to us by the Tory Party, is Boris and the Non-Doms, an elite collection of individuals with connections to the cabinet, whose willingness to pay tax in the UK on overseas earnings is flakey to say the least. In addition to the wife of Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, it transpires that the health secretary and former chancellor, Sajid Javid, has admitted that he also held non-dom status for six years while he worked as a banker. The Guardian reports that Downing Street has conceded that it cannot say whether any other ministers or their spouses have ...
Dear Sir, I read with a sense of déjà vu your article about the frustrations of MP Bill Esterson regarding the lack of action/urgency within the NHS to rebuild Maghull Health Centre as I and my then Sefton Council Colleagues, in particular Cllr. Geoff Howe, went around very similar circles about this very same project years ago. That Maghull Health Centre has not been rebuilt in 2022 and for it not to be a fully-fledged NHS Drop-In Centre is a scandal in my view. I ceased to be a Lib Dem Sefton Councillor for Maghull in 2015 but from around ...
Responding to the news that UK GDP grew by a mere 0.1% in February, following 0.8% growth in January, Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesperson Christine Jardine MP said: "These figures show the economy is being hit hard as the cost of living crisis bites. "Instead of putting all his energy into protecting people and growing the economy, the Chancellor is instead in a fight for his political livelihood after this weeks scandalous revelations. "Hard-pressed families are facing no end of hardship with soaring energy bills and unfair tax hikes and Ministers are sitting on their hands as both people and the ...
Many thanks to the residents who recently highlighted to me repairs and upgrades required at the Roseangle playpark - see photos as examples of some of these : I reported this to the council's environment management and have had the following positive response : "I will have the site inspected and appropriate action taken."
