Leaseholders and tenants on the Wyvil and Mawbey Brough estates continue to be hit by the Labour Council's sky-high charges and rent increases. Lib Dem Councillors are backing all estate residents to get a fair deal from the council. 1,500-2,000 cyclists use the Greenwich foot tunnel every day to cross the River Thames, and I know some of them are commuters from Lee Green who do the ride across Blackheath and down through Greenwich Park each day. The tunnel is due for refurbishment, and part of this will involve replacement of the lifts and then closure of the tunnel completely for a period. I left King's Lynn yesterday morning on the bus for Sutton Bridge. I personally think MPs shouldn't have been given as long as they have been given for recess. The Guardian is reporting that Gordon Brown spoke to Colonel Gaddafi regarding the release of the Lockerbie bomber, and asked him to keep it as a low profile event.
