Using a barometer to measure height

Normal Physics exam questions involve measuring the pressure at the two heights to work out how tall a building is. Alternatively if you want to compare heights of two children you can place a barometer on their heads thus: This answers the question as to whether my 12 year old son is now taller than my 15 year old daughter (who is 5'10").

Merry Christmas from New York City!

So we are here!! We woke up this morning in the apartment incredibly excited to be in New York City on Christmas Day!It was a long flight yesterday via Munich so as to get a quality flight for a reasonable price (on Lufthansa). But the coolest thing was that as we took off from Munich the German countryside and villages were covered in a blanket of snow which just made it look so pretty and Christmassy.
